“What is wonderful about I WISH I HAD ASKED is that it provides a sort of life beyond death. As one Cancer Connection participant explained to me, ‘What could be very painful becomes instead great joy.’ Another participant told me, ‘When I am gone, my family will always and forever have my voice.’ Ralph is a kind and gifted listener and facilitator.”
Betsy G. Neisner, Exec. Director, Cancer Connection
I Wish I Had Asked (IWIHA) is a program that digitally records the stories and oral histories of those touched by cancer, the elderly, and people who are terminally or critically ill. The recordings are done free of charge and are given to the individual and their families to share and keep.
IWIHA is available to support groups, those in care centers, or through private appointments with families and individuals. IWIHA is now available in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties of Massachusetts. We plan to expand regionally to provide our service to families in as many communities as we can. We hope to supply equipment and train volunteers to do the recording and we need your help. Your donation supports equipment, travel costs, training, and outreach.
To find out more about how IWIHA can help you preserve your family stories, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
